Welcome to the website of Ozark Mountain Preparedness, LLC! Our mission is provide top quality instructional courses for people who desire to pursue a self-reliant lifestyle, whether in the wilds or right at home. By blending both modern and primitive methods into our curriculum, we strive to offer a comprehensive view of survival and preparedness. Our course topics include wilderness and urban survival, fur trapping, bushcraft, primitive skills, long-term wilderness living, land navigation, home disaster preparation, outdoor cooking, food procurement and storage, foraging, wild edibles, and others.
What makes Ozark Mountain Preparedness different than other survival schools? We are not a group of hobby survivalists that turned into instructors overnight. Our staff actually live the lifestyle they promote and teach; it's not just a hobby or fad. The knowledge they pass on to the students is based on real world experiences rather than mere theory. Our cadre of instructors has worked and lived in the Ozark Mountains, Desert Southwest, Rocky Mountain West, Alaska, Southeastern United States, the Adirondacks, and abroad. They are professional, friendly people who will go above and beyond to ensure students understand the skills/concepts demonstrated. We hope to develop a relationship with each and every student that does not end when the course is over; ideally becoming a continual resource for folks as they work towards self-reliance. Over 85% of our students return for additional training!
Ozark Mountain Preparedness provides a safe training environment and all staff are trained to a minimum emergency medical standard of Advanced Wilderness First Aid. For additional safety considerations, there is no alcohol allowed on any of our course offerings.
